Kokot joined the firm in 1997 and heads the trusts and estates department. He has extensive experience in all aspects of estate planning, trust and estate administration, transfer taxation, and fiduciary taxation, including representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries in litigated cases. In addition to representing a broad spectrum of business and entrepreneurial clients, Eugene has many clients who are prominent in entertainment, the arts, and the literary world. He also serves corporate fiduciary clients in the administration of estates and trusts and in fiduciary accounting matters. He has been very active in the New York State Bar Association, having served for twelve years on the Continuing Legal Education Committee of the State Bar’s Trusts and Estates Section. He also served on the Committee on Trusts, Estates and Surrogates’ Courts of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Eugene lectures frequently on topics of estate planning and administration to Bar groups and non-lawyers.
